Announcement
January 8th, 2007I’m sorry to say that I’ve discovered I’m not cut out to do recording, such as my podcasts, on a long-term basis. As with many other things, writing, recording, producing and marketing the Podcast takes time from my first love - quilting - and my business - web design. I wish I could say that I had so much fun doing this that I couldn’t bear to quit; sadly, that’s not the case.
When something isn’t fun anymore, you should admit it’s time to stop. It’s time to go on to something else. I’ve learned a lot from podcasting, and though it was fun for a while, it’s not the sort of fun quilting (or web design) is.
Thank you for listening and enjoying the Drive to Quilt Podcast during its time on the air. The archived podcasts will remain available here for time being. I encourage you to visit the Quilt Epiphany Weblog, where I will continue to write about quilting and other things related.
Happy New Quilting Year to you all.
Nadine

It is always sad when things come to an end. All I can say is thank you for the work and effort that has gone into the casts in the past. Thank you for sharing. I wish you well in all your ventures for the future.

After finally being introduced to podcasts by my son I was thrilled to find one about quilting! After listening to many of your podcasts and hearing about your quilt “Stars in My Hand” I was excited to see it displayed at the Road to California Quilt Show. To hear you give some background and to see your work helps to know you more.
Life is too short to spend time on something you are not passionate about. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for your comments, and your understanding! You’re so lucky that you went to the show in CA. I’m sure you saw many wonderful quilts there!
Thanks for stopping by! Take care,
Nadine

Hi Linda,
I’m sorry to hear that you are no longer podcasting. For your listeners who are yearning for an equally interesting and uplifting podcast as the one you were producing, please check out the Quilting Stash Podcast that Annie Smith produces. It is available on iTunes. Annie’s website is www.simplearts.com.

I’m sad to hear your podcasts are ending, however I understand how difficult it is to continue with something that you don’t enjoy. Your podcasts made some long drives something like ‘quilting on the road’ for me.
Thanks again.

Dear Nadine, I have been patiently waiting for your first podcast of the new year and when I realized January was almost over and I had not received an update I came to your website hoping for some news. Well…the news was there, but it was not what I expected. Believe me when i say I completely understand about not pursuing something that you are not compassionate about, I really respect your decision. I too went to the Road to California Quilt Show (it would be sacrilege to my sister quilters since I live only 5 miles away!) and realized that in order to be true to my quilting heart I must become more disciplined in what I am dedicating my time to. Thank you for the time you gave us and I will be visiting your weblog.

Cindy, your comments are sooo timely this morning for me! (and sorry about the patiently waiting part! I debated about doing one last Podcast before going out completely, but life got in the way during and after the holidays, and it just didn’t happen)
Anyway, I’m still sifting through priorities and realizing that even more of some of the non-quilting things I’ve been doing lately must go so that I get back to my disciplined quilter self and continue to develop my art.
Thanks for your understanding and insightful comments.
Take care,
Nadine

Just discovered your podcast yesterday and have been catching up on your posts while sewing foundation pineapple blocks. I am so disappointed that you won’t be doing any future posts…but I do understand. Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon. Best, Catherine

Nadine, although I do understand where you’re coming from, I’m sadden to read that you will no longer be doing podcasts. I just want to say that I enjoyed your episodes tremendously. You had a way of communicating about quilting and life that just hit home for me and made it all come together. Thank you for sharing your talents. Keep well and happy quilting!

[…] April 16, 2008 in Podcasts Tags: Dreamweaver Quilts, Driven to Quilt, Nadine Ruggles, Web Design I visited the Driven to Quilt website to pick up “Episode 1.5” of the Driven to Quilt Podcast and I thought I would take the time to read the announcement at the top of the page. The first time I visited the website I was so excited to get to the podcasts that I figured I would read it another time. Now seemed as good a time as any, but what news! […]
